The baseline: how we run the business.
Before a rating methodology is credible, the organization producing it needs to be. SYNE Ratings maintains ISO 27001 certification for information security management, SOC 2 Type II attestation for our hosted platforms, and an annual independent financial audit across all group entities.
The two standards everything else builds on.
Our rating methodologies are developed and reviewed in line with IOSCO's Principles for Ratings and Rating Outlooks and, for ESG-specific methodologies, the ICMA Principles for external reviewers. Each methodology is reviewed by an independent Methodology Committee before publication and at least annually thereafter.

SYNE Ratings is licensed or registered as a credit and ESG ratings provider in 71 jurisdictions, including registration equivalents recognised by the UK FCA, the EU under the CRA Regulation regime, and comparable regulators across Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Our underlying data model is mapped so that a single rated-entity disclosure can be reported against CSRD/ESRS, TCFD, GRI, SASB and ISSB simultaneously, without asking a rated entity to submit the same information multiple times in different formats.

Carbon Ratings draw on Verra VCS, Gold Standard, and ART TREES methodologies as baseline eligibility criteria, layered with our own independent geospatial and ground-truth verification protocol.
