Coverage depth varies by country. The 71 countries where SYNE holds a full licence carry a formally commissioned, fully verified Sustainability Rating for Governments. The remaining countries shown here carry an index-only position, modelled from public data to the same scale, but without the on-site verification and Rating Committee sign-off described in the World Index Methodology.

All four pillars are weighted equally (25% each) in the overall composite grade. A country missing one pillar has its remaining three reweighted to ~33.3% each rather than being penalised with a zero; at least two of the four pillars must carry a valid score for a country to receive a composite grade at all.
