SYNE Ratings today announced the launch of the SYNE World Index, a global extension of the SYNE Index that positions 249 countries and territories on the same Standards Alignment and Data Quality & Assurance axes used across every SYNE Rating product.

The launch builds directly on SYNE's Sustainability Ratings for Governments methodology. Countries within SYNE's 71 licensed markets carry a fully commissioned, independently verified rating; the remaining countries carry an indicative index-only position built from public data, clearly distinguished from a full rating on the platform.

The World Index includes a scatter-plot visualisation of the top 25 ranked countries, a full sortable table of all 180 scored countries with Environment, Social, Governance and Economy sub-scores, and a quadrant summary showing how the full set splits across Front Runners, Rising Stars, Emerging Stars and Backmarkers.

“Investors and lenders have been asking us for a consistent way to compare sovereign sustainability performance well beyond our licensed markets. The World Index gives them that starting point, while being explicit about where a position is a full verified rating versus an indicative one.”
