Ambadi Kurup brings 20 years of experience in capital risk management within banking and financial services to his role as Director, Risk Management at SYNE Ratings. Based in North America, his career has centred on how financial institutions identify, price and hold capital against risk - the same discipline he now applies to how SYNE Ratings' own methodologies treat risk across its rated universe.

That background in capital risk gives him a particular vantage point on rating design: a rating is, at its core, a risk opinion, and Ambadi's work focuses on making sure SYNE's methodologies hold up to the same scrutiny a bank's own capital models would face from a regulator or a ratings committee.

As Director, Risk Management, Ambadi is responsible for the risk framework underpinning SYNE Ratings' methodology - from how data quality risk is scored, to how a rating's stability is tested over time, to the governance controls described in SYNE Ratings' own regulatory Disclosures.
