Linto Cherukattu's path to SYNE started with a question most people never think to ask: how do you know where something actually is, and whether the data saying so can be trusted? Fifteen years ago, he began his career as a product owner at a geospatial startup, then went on to found his own venture - a transportation and logistics company built around geospatial intelligence. Along the way he built a genuine depth in indoor and outdoor navigation systems, the kind of positioning and mapping problems that look simple from the outside and are anything but underneath.

That grounding in spatial data turned out to be exactly the right preparation for what came next. Linto co-founded SYNE and served as Chief Product Officer from its earliest days through 2025, and it was in that role that the platform's defining discipline took shape: a relentless, detail-first approach to defining and building the product, and to aggregating and validating the data underneath it for climate risk management and sustainability reporting. Getting a location right is a solved problem if you don't care whether it's accurate - the same is true of emissions data, and Linto built SYNE's product with that lesson in mind from day one.

That same rigour made him a genuine authority on the compliance side of the business - GHG Accounting, PCAF, and the various compliance models the platform now runs against. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Technology, specialising in Computer Science.

Today, as Chief Technology Officer, Linto has moved from defining what the product should do to owning how it's built - responsible for SYNE's technology, architecture, development and engineering, including the technology research that feeds the next generation of the platform. That same architecture underpins SYNE Ratings' own data pipeline: the continuous monitoring feeds, disclosure ingestion, and scoring infrastructure that let a rating update the moment new verified data arrives, rather than waiting for the next scheduled review.
