Dr. Sunley Lissy George

Dr. Sunley Lissy George brings more than 12 years of research experience in sustainable ecosystems and global health to her role as Chief Sustainability Officer, and was instrumental in articulating the decarbonisation models behind SYNE and its customer portfolio. As Chief Sustainability Officer, she sets direction across SYNE's products, solutions, carbon and customer portfolio advisory - holding the platform's disclosure and decarbonisation methodology to the same standard she previously applied in clinical practice and academic research.

Her academic background began in dentistry - a Bachelor's in Dentistry followed by a Master's in Dentistry with a specialisation in Prosthodontics - before she moved into public health and sustainability, completing a Master's in Public Health and a Master's in Sustainability at the University of Sydney, Australia.

She publishes research across food security, sustainable health, sustainable supply chains, and the integrated geopolitics of supply chains and risk in a sustainable world. At SYNE, she led the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) measurement work behind more than 10,000 products and services across the food and beverages industry.

Prior to joining SYNE, Sunley practised as a clinician and was a partner in a venture fund. She currently sits on the boards of Digital Trust Infrastructure and Climate Asset Registries. That same rigour carries directly into SYNE Ratings' own methodology: the shared criteria framework, published grade scale, and disclosure-quality scoring that every SYNE Rating - ESG, Sustainability, Carbon or Supplier - is built on.
